JST Glow Wire range
Glow wire testing is an example of the indirect flame method.
Test results from applying these methods provide a way to compare the materials' tendency to resist ignition, self-extinguish flames (should ignition occur), and to not propagate fire via dripping.
IEC 60695 specifies the details of the incandescent wire test when it is applied to test specimens of solid electrical insulating materials or other solid materials for flammability testing for the
purpose of determining Incandescent Wire Flammability Index (GWFI, glow-wire flammability index).This basic safety publication is intended to be used by the study committees in the establishment of
their standards in accordance with the principles of the ISO/IEC Guide 51.
So JST has diversified some of the families to meet all of those flammability criteria.
